We urgently need your help to support the Boy Scouts of Belize to officially have a place to call home.  The Boy Scouts headquarters has been moving from one place to another since Scouting started in Belize in 1911 but thankfully they have obtains some land in Belize City and the building is already under construction. We need your help to raise funds to purchase 5000 cement blocks to raise the walls for the Sir Colville N. Young Building, the official National Headquarters for the Scouts.

Each block cost $5 dollars Belize which includes the laying material and labour. You can donate starting with 1 block which is $5 Belize dollars, approximately 2.50 USD , 50 MXN pesos or 3.30 CAD.  Donations are most welcomed from Canada, Mexico, UK, Germany,  USA, Belize and all other countries where this message reaches.

If you donate and accept, your name will be permanently displayed on a wall at the new building. This is a great opportunity to support Scouting and to be remembered for it for years to come. Your name will also appear on the Belize Scout Foundation Facebook page.

Visit our Facebook page

You can find more details on the project on the Foundations page. There are posts of the progress of the development and construction of the building so far.  Please note that block laying is planned to start next week.

There is a long way to go so each donation is highly needed and very much appreciated.   If you can not donate at this time please assist us by sharing the post. Perhaps other Scouts or others that hold Scouting will see this campaign and will be able to assist.

Please send us a message if you have any concerns or contact the Boy Scout Foundation directly at:

Chairman reelection term

Dr. Rene Villanueva’s first term as Chairman of the Belize Scout Foundation

October 21, 2020

On May 27, 2017 Dr. Rene Villanueva was approached by then Chairman of the Belize Scout Foundation (BSF), Julian Castillo and then Executive Director for The Scout Association of Belize Hilberto B. Riverol to consider taking over the chairmanship of the BSF.

Dr. Villanueva accepted the challenge without hesitation and on November 25, 2017 he was officially welcomed as the new Chairman of the BSF.

On November 25, 2020, which is next month, Dr. Villanueva will have served his three-year term and is eligible for re-election for another term of three years.

With the construction of the “Sir Colville N. Young Building” underway, it is likely that Dr. Villanueva will want to serve another term to see the completion of the building.

We congratulate Dr. Villanueva for his commitment in serving the young people of Belize through the BSF and hope that he agrees to serve for another term as Chairman of the BSF.
